The Do's and Don't of A 9mm Ar Pistol Kit
Are you a new owner of an old 9mm pistol? If so, then you definitely are a qualified candidate for the gun owner's pistol kit! There is nothing better than owning a gun that was designed with the "new guy" in mind. (The old guy being you.)
New builder? This article explains how to build your own 9mm ar pistol kit, and what parts you will need. 9mm AR Pistol Kits: Barrel Chamber: 9mm Paralum. Overall Length: 7.5 inches Twist Rate: 2:10. Gauge: 40."
The next part of your new pistol is the barrel, and if you have purchased an older model, you are lucky, because it is very easy to upgrade your current barrel to an A2 model. With an older gun, you will probably only be able to upgrade the front sight/rail to an adjustable one, but that's not a problem. If you've purchased a new one, then you will need to do a bit more work, but the basic concept remains the same. Upgrade your pistol! And since we're talking about a 9mm or pistol kit, let's go over a few things that you'll need to do this successfully:
Installing the barrel nut is the single most important thing you need to do in your kit bolt. Your pistol's bolt handle must be seated into the brass nut, before it can be installed. To do this, remove the old bolt handle. Securely install the new rra nut, making sure that it is seated in place by drilling into the brass with a screwdriver. If you didn't put the bolt on straight, then you will need to use some sort of epoxy to make sure that it is seated correctly.
Once you have ensured that the bolt is seated correctly, and the area has been secured in place, you can replace your previous fixed BBs with the new ones. Insert the new ammo in your pistol, and ensure that the same pressure is applied to it as being applied to the rra during the installation process. If you weren't careful enough during the installation process, you might have to sand down the plastic tip of your new ammo barrel.
Once you have replaced the rra with the new one, you're almost finished. Next, you need to assemble the other parts of the kit, which includes the primer, the transfer bar, the magazine tube, and the lock stop. This last part will help keep your pistol safe from unlawful modification or theft. You can't do much more with an old gun unless you have a new 9mm pistol. If you want to upgrade your pistol, all you need to do is take out the old parts kit, and slide in the new one.
